Sign Master Electrician of Record Registration
Any person or business who wishes to perform electrical work within the City of Houston must register with the Electrical section. Master Electricians, Electrical Contractors, Sign Installers and Appliance Installers all must register before performing work within the City of Houston.
Please retain a copy of your registration on sit for all projects.
To register as a Sign Master Electrician of Record within the City of Houston, you will need the following documents:
- A copy of your Master Electrician’s license granted by the State of Texas,
- A copy of your Contractor License granted by the State of Texas, and
- A notarized copy of form CE-1189 Electrical State License Registration and Renewal.
To register online, please send a completed copy of form CE-1189 Electrical State License Registration and Renewal and any supporting documentation to [email protected] .
To register as a Sign Master Electrician of Record, please bring a copy of each of the following to our main office located at 1002 Washington Avenue, Houston, Texas 77002:
- A copy of your Master Electrician’s license granted by the State of Texas,
- A copy of your Contractor License granted by the State of Texas, and
- A notarized copy of form CE-1189 Electrical State License Registration and Renewal.

To renew your registration as a Sign Master Electrician of Record within the City of Houston, you will need the following documents:
