The Houston Fire Department’s Life Safety Bureau will be switching to a new permitting system on Monday, February 17, 2020. To prepare for the change, online payments for HFD Life Safety Bureau – including annual fire prevention permits, after hours and reinspection fees – through iPermits portal will end on Saturday, February 8. HFD fees in connection with building construction projects will remain available in iPermits.
A new online portal for HFD Life Safety Bureau will be announced soon. Please note, advance pay accounts will not be available in the new permitting system. You may request to close your APA by submitting Form CE1273 in person to Building Code Enforcement’s Permit Office. Only authorized account users may complete the form.
If you use your APA for other transactions such as building permits and trade permits, no action is needed.
